Fill our pockets, our novelty tote bags, our sandwich ziplocs. Fill our hands, chilled and wrinkled with river water.

Gather, curate, store, stockpile. Our solid stone stash, tugging the wistful hem of impermanence. Crystalize a day by taking home a stone. Petrify a memory. 

Stone shaped like sadness. Stone feels like holding the world in my palm. Stone the color of ancient iron. Stone tastes like earth’s wisdom.  

Pebble holds the sun’s breath on her coat. Gravel rusting away chain link armor. Heavy seeds vibrate calm.
